Cons Of Living In Memphis:
1) The City structure:
The city is very poorly designed, as well as the infrastructure. Even though there are a lot of trees and greenery, they are in the wrong locations. This makes it hard to get around and they get in your way. The city has no sidewalks that I can see, which makes it hard to walk from point A to point B without getting lost or running into a tree branch on at least one occasion.
2) ZOO Memphis:
The Memphis Zoo is one of the most depressing places you’ll ever visit. It’s filled with sad animals that were probably abused as children and don’t know how to act around humans anymore. If you really want to see some animals in a happier environment, go to a place like the Memphis Zoo during the off-season. I’ve been to the Memphis Zoo during spring and summer, and it’s a very depressing place.
3) Downtown Area:
The city has no downtown area. Although the city has a lot of old buildings, there is no downtown area to speak of. There’s nothing to do except go to the zoo or go out on the lake, which is located in town somewhere, but it’s not close enough to walk to or anything like that. There isn’t even a mall in Memphis, which makes it hard to get around if you don’t have a car.
4) The Traffic System:
In order to get anywhere in Memphis you have at least one road that you have to take at least twice since most of them are one-way streets.
5) Crime Rate:
Memphis has a lot of crime. Although I’ve never had any problems whatsoever, there are people who have. The only thing you can really do is lock your doors and windows at night, but that’s not always possible.
