Tennessee is a state that is located in the southeastern area of the United States. Before Tennessee became a state, it was part of the territory that was known as “The Cherokee Nation”. Tennessee became a part of the United States when Tennessee was divided into two states, North and South Carolina. The two states were separated because their population was very different from one another. The people in North Carolina were mainly English-speaking and they had a lot more slaves than those who lived in South Carolina. When Tennessee became a state, it had many different races living in it, including Native Americans and African Americans.
The land that is now known as Tennessee was first inhabited by Native Americans who hunted and fished for food. They lived in the area for about 5,000 years. The Native Americans were called the Cherokee Nation and they were part of the Iroquois people. The Cherokee Nation was a group of eight tribes that lived together in one place. They all spoke different languages, but they all shared a similar culture.
The first Europeans to travel through Tennessee were Spanish explorers who came here to trade with the Native Americans. The explorers did not stay long because there was not much for them to do here except trade and hunt. However, many other European explorers travelled through Tennessee over the next 150 years or so, including French explorers and English explorers.
When Tennessee became a state, it had different races living in it as mentioned above. There were many different types of people living in Tennessee, such as Native Americans, African Americans, and White Americans. The state of Tennessee was divided into two states because North Carolina had more slaves than South Carolina did.
The first official settlers came to Tennessee in 1796 when George Rogers Clark led a group of people who wanted to settle there. They came to Tennessee because they heard that it was a new land that would make them wealthy. In 1796, the settlers started building homes and planting crops. By 1800, the area was settled and it was called Kentucky County. By 1810, the settlers decided that they needed a new name for their county so they decided to name it Blount County after Colonel James Blount.
